The Wilkes University baseball team traveled to Center Valley, Pa. to take on DeSales on Friday, competing in its first conference action of the season. After nine innings, the Colonels didn’t have the offense to keep up with the Bulldogs, falling 8-3.

LADY COLONELS RANKED COMING INTO SPRING SEASON

The Wilkes University women’s tennis team is currently ranked 12th in the Atlantic South Region by ITA. The Lady Colonels are currently 8-0 on the season, and will compete in their first match on Sunday, March 21 at home against Elizabethtown.

COLONELS BLOW BY MARYWOOD

The Wilkes University baseball team had its first home game of the season on Tuesday, hosting non-conference opponent Marywood at Artillery Park on a sunny afternoon. After a long game full of hits and walks, the Colonels took advantage of Pacer mistakes, winning 16-8.

The Wilkes University wrestling team posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.261, ranking them 15th nationally, proving they are not only successful on the mat, but define the true meaning of student-athlete.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams were named to the All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently, as over 100 colleges and universities received the award across the nation.
