GOLFERS FINISH FOURTH AT FREEDOM CHAMPIONSHIP

The Wilkes University golf team shot a second-round 349 and finished with a two day total of 678 to place fourth at the Freedom Conference Championship. Robert Hillibush and Sean Madden both shot 168 for the tournament to finish tied for 14th overall.

HERSHEY, Pa. - Sean Madden shot a first-round 78 to finish in a tie for seventh place and to lead the Colonels to a third-place finish after the first day of the Freedom Conference Championship. Wilkes shot a team-total of 329, just six strokes behind King's, who currently sits in second place.

GOLFERS FINISH SECOND IN TRI-MEET

Mike Turano shot a 78, which was good enough for second place overall to pace the Wilkes University golf team to a second place finish in a match with Misericordia and King’s College.

SVOBODA HITS HOLE-IN-ONE AT SUSQUEHANNA SPRING INVITATIONAL

Wilkes University golfer Noah Svoboda hit a hole-in-one on the fifth hole at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club to lead the Colonels to a ninth place finish at the Susquehanna Spring Invitational.

WILKES COMPETES IN FIRST MATCH OF SEASON

The Wilkes University men’s golf team competed in a tri-match up in Scranton on Wednesday, competing in its first competitive match of the year. Out of the three teams, Wilkes finished third, with all five Colonels combining for a 363.

SEAN MADDEN IS NOT YOUR NORMAL STUDENT-ATHLETE

Sean Madden isn’t your typical student athlete. The senior from Bishop O’Hara High School in Dunmore Pa, is only one of a handful at Wilkes University who plays two sports while taking 15 credits in an effort to obtain his degree in History.

Twenty four members of the Wilkes University athletic department were named to the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation spring Academic Honor Roll as announced by executive director Ken Andrews.

HANDFUL HONORED BY CONFERENCE OFFICE

Five Wilkes University student-athletes were honored by the league office as they were named to the MASCAC Sportsmanship Team in their respective sport. The teams include a player from each school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season.

HARRISBURG – Douglas Taylor shot a two-day total of 158 to lead Wilkes University to a fourth place finish at the Freedom Conference Championship. The Colonels had a combined total of 661, just one stroke behind third place finisher Manhattanville.
