LACROSSE TO BRING IN SEVEN NEW RECRUITS IN 2011

The Wilkes University women’s lacrosse team will be adding seven new players to its roster in 2011 in an effort to help replace the three Lady Colonels who departed this past year.

The Wilkes University athletic department had 29 student-athletes make the Middle Atlantic Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll for their performance in the classroom.

FIVE NAMED TO SPRING SPORTSMANSHIP TEAM

Mike McAndrew, Gina Stefanelli, Cassie Cronin, Jeremy Nolt and Katrina Lynn were all honored by the conference office this past week, as all were named to the Spring Middle Atlantic Conference Winter Sportsmanship Teams for their conduct both on and off the playing field.

CRONIN SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD

This past weekend the Wilkes University women’s lacrosse team defeated King’s College 18-15 in its last contest of the season. In her last game of the year, sophomore goalkeeper Cassie Cronin also broke the school record for saves in a game with 25.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Wilkes University women’s lacrosse team was only able to get one shot off in the first period, while Elizabethtown was able to score 13 first half goals and rode it to a 14-2 win over the Lady Colonels.

The Wilkes University women’s lacrosse team hosted Misericordia on Saturday, on a day in which seniors Erica Sundberg and Amanda Tilley were acknowledged for their service for Wilkes. The Lady Colonels then fell to the Cougars, who scored a goal with 11 seconds left to take the game, 14-13.
