The Wilkes University athletic department had 29 student-athletes make the Middle Atlantic Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll for their performance in the classroom.

Mike McAndrew, Gina Stefanelli, Cassie Cronin, Jeremy Nolt and Katrina Lynn were all honored by the conference office this past week, as all were named to the Spring Middle Atlantic Conference Winter Sportsmanship Teams for their conduct both on and off the playing field.

STEFANELLI RECEIVES FIRST TEAM HONORS FOR FOURTH TIME

For the fourth consecutive year, Gina Stefanelli has been selected to the First Team All-Freedom Conference for her efforts on the softball diamond as voted by coaches across the league.

The Wilkes University softball team challenged Delaware Valley to a double-header on Saturday, falling to the Aggies by scores of 2-0 and 2-0.

The Wilkes University softball team came through in the clutch as it swept a double header from Alvernia. The Lady Colonels came back from a 3-0 deficit in the first game to win 5-3 in extra innings before taking the second 6-3.

The Wilkes University softball team hosted Eastern in a double-header on Saturday, as the Lady Colonels were fighting to keep their postseason hopes alive. Wilkes dropped the first game to Eastern, 5-2, but picked up the win in game two with help from a late home run, 3-2.

The Wilkes University softball team hosted Lebanon Valley in a double-header on Thursday, coming off two victories over King’s College last Saturday. Wilkes was unable to get into things offensively, as Lebanon Valley cruised to two victories, 7-0 and 4-0.
