MEN'S SOCCER, FIELD HOCKEY PREPARE FOR ECAC SEMIFINALS

After both winning their opening round ECAC Southern Region Tournament games, the Wilkes University men's soccer and field hockey teams are set to play their semifinal match-ups on Saturday afternoon.
The men's soccer team, the No. 5 seed, defeated No. 4 seed PSU-Behrend on Wednesday 2-1 in overtime to advance to the semifinals. They will now play No. 1 seed King's College on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Robert L. Betzler Complex in Wilkes-Barre. The winner will move on to the ECAC Championship game, which will be played on Sunday against the winner of the other semifinal match between No. 3 Catholic University and No. 2 Frostburg University. The championship will also be played at the Betzler Complex at 1 p.m.
The field hockey team, which is the No. 2 seed, used a 2-1 win over No. 7 seed Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday afternoon to advance into the semifinal match, which will also be held on Saturday. The Lady Colonels will play host to No. 3 seed Kean University at 1 p.m. at Kington's Artillery Park. However, in the event of inclement weather, the game could be moved Wyoming Valley West High School to be played on artificial turf. The victor of this match will advance to play the winner of the other semifinal between No. 1 seed William Paterson University and No. 4 seed Catholic University. The championship will take place on Sunday at William Paterson in Wayne, N.J. at 4 p.m.
