In a vote by coaches across the league, senior forward
Tom Kresge (Brodheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) was named to the first team All-Freedom Conference for his efforts in the 2009-2010 season.
The senior from Brodheadsville, Pa. was Mr. Consistent for the Colonels this past season, averaging 17.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest. He scored 439 points on the season, which is tied for 23rd highest in school history. He also pulled down 221 rebounds, the tenth most in Wilkes history. The forward also was second on the team in blocks with 23, and passed out 43 assists.
Kresge was an inside as well as outside threat for the Colonels, connecting on over 47 percent of his shots from the floor, but also hitting on just under 35 percent of his three-point attempts. He started every game for Wilkes, and averaged 35 minutes of play a night. He also led Wilkes in scoring in 13 of its 25 games.
This is the third time Kresge has been named to the All-Freedom Conference team, his first time as a first team selection.
