The Wilkes University men's tennis team entered into round two of the NCAA Tournament with a tough draw in #2 Emory, who downed the Colonels 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles play, Cesar Leon (Woodhaven, NY/Brooklyn Tech) and Clarke Freeman (York/Central York) fell 8-0, and soon after Evan Katz (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) and Wes McCollum (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) fell in the third position, 8-3. Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) and Chris Cozzillio (Harrisburg/Trinity) experienced a little more success against the Eagles, but eventually fell 8-5, digging an early hole for the Colonels.

In single play it was more of the same, as Cozzillio was defeated 6-1, 6-0, while Katz and McCollum finished at the same time to end the match, 6-0.

With the loss the Colonels end their season with a 16-3 record, tied for the second most wins in a season in school history. They also picked up their first ever NCAA Tournament team victory against Transylvania on Friday after winning their third consecutive Freedom Conference Championship.
