Kendall Hinze (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) and
Whitney Connolly (Liberty, PA/Liberty), who play for the Wilkes University basketball teams, were named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Winter Sportsmanship Teams for their conduct both on and off the court.
The teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season. The players are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.
Connolly started in 23 games for the Lady Colonels this season where she averaged 5.3 points and 3.2 rebounds a game. She was a workhorse for the women's basketball team as she averaged 27.4 minutes per game, which was second most on the team.
Hinze was a key player off the bench as he appeared in all 25 games for the Colonels, averaging 18.1 minutes of action per contest. He put in six points a game while pulling down 97 rebounds, 45 of which were on the offensive end, which was third-best on the team.
