The Wilkes University athletic department had 29 student-athletes make the Middle Atlantic Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll for their performance in the classroom.
The honor roll comprises those student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher and completed the playing season in good standing.
On the baseball team, 10 Colonels made the Academic Honor Roll, including Matt Ruch, Scott Skammer, Phil Leid, Mike Brennan, Joe Dantas, Rich Cosgrove, Corey Martin, Trevin Jaggars, Jame DeRe and Mike Olerta.
The men’s tennis team had four individuals make the honor roll in Jeremy Nolt, Jefferson Bohan, Clarke Freeman and Wes McCollum.
The softball team was represented by Laura Gonzales, Lindsey Behrenshausen, Maureen Pelot, Megan Gershey, Gina Stefanelli and Abbey Agresti.
Two women’s lacrosse players made the Academic Honor Roll, Amanda Tilley and Caitlin Jordan.
While seven women’s tennis players were honored, those being Amanda Holyk, Anna Mitchell, Xiaoqiao Zhang, Rebekah Shanaman, Michelle Knight, Victoria Bybel and Katrina Lynn.
