WILKES-BARRE –
Addy Malatesta, Director of Athletics at Wilkes University, has announced that the football team's first home game of the season against Waynesburg University on Saturday, September 11 at 12:00 p.m., will be free to the public. The game will be played at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
The game between the Colonels and Waynesburg is just one of eight games included in the “MAC/PAC Challenge,” with schools from the Middle Atlantic Conference playing against schools of the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
The Ralston Athletic Complex is currently in Phase I of a $3 million renovation, which has seen a new synthetic turf along with lights added to the stadium. Fencing, a temporary visitor's press box and comfort facilities, as well as an upgraded public address system are additional features of this part of the project.
Also scheduled for Saturday at the stadium is the home opener for Wilkes' field hockey team, which will host Arcadia University at 4:30 p.m. Women's soccer will follow at 7:00 p.m., hosting Moravian College underneath the lights.
