The Wilkes University volleyball team was represented well in the All-Freedom Conference voting this year, as two Lady Colonels received all-conference honors in a vote by coaches across the league.
Marissa Harrison (Shavertown/Lake-Lehman), a junior from Shavertown, Pa., was voted to the first team All-Freedom Team as an outside hitter. Harrison rewrote the record book at Wilkes, recording 402 kills in the 2009 season, the most in school history. She had a .258 attack percentage, 44 service aces, and 273 digs, leading the Lady Colonels to a Freedom Conference Tournament bid.
LeeAnn Searfoss (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty), a senior from Bethlehem, Pa., was selected to the second team All-Freedom Conference team at the setter position. Searfoss passed out 883 assists in her senior season, and collected 235 digs and 34 aces.
Searfoss and Harrison were vital players on a Wilkes team that improved from 12-20 to 16-12 in one year.
