YORK, Pa. – Wilkes wrestling team, currently ranked No. 18 in the country, improved to 10-1 on the year after winning all three contests at a quad-match hosted by York. The Colonels out-scored all three opponents 121-6, including shutout wins over Muhlenberg and PSU Dubois.

The Colonels won their opening match 47-0 over Muhlenberg, posting one pin, two technical falls and a major decision. In the final bout of the match, Andrew Feldman (Shavertown, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) remained undefeated when he pinned Andrew Nederloff in 1:02 in the heavyweight division.

At 157, Robert Griffith (Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) recorded an 18-3 technical fall win in 5:25 while Tom Andresen (Drexel Hill/Upper Darby) picked up a 15-0 tech. fall win over Ken Ludwig at 174 in 3:51.

The Colonels followed up their win over Muhlenberg with a 40-0 win over PSU Dubois, marking their third shutout win of the season. Zach Pizarro (Easton, Pa./Easton) recorded a pin in 1:43, while Kris Krawchuk (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh) tallied an 18-3 technical fall victory.

Scott Mantua (Clarksville, MD/River Hill) opened the match with a 3-2 win at 125 before Ryan Wilson (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township) gave the Colonels a 6-0 advantage with a 5-2 win at 133. Krawchuck followed with his one-sided victory while Griffith won his second bout of the day when he defeated Kasey Haines 4-3. At 157, Andresen defeated Ryan Taylor 11-4, while Dustin Stough (Friendsville, MD/Northern Garrett) recorded a 10-0 major decision win over Kyle Bish at 165.

Rich Pellegrini (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) and Tyler Pickard (Blackwood, NJ/Highland Regional) both won at 174 and 184 respectively before Pizarro recorded his pin. Feldman won the final bout of the match by forfeit.

Wilkes concluded their day with a 34-6 win over York. Wilson gave the Colonels the lead for good when he pinned Alex Paladino in 5:31 at 133 before Krawchuk tallied a 12-4 major decision win over Chris Gugliotti.

Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) and White both picked up shutout wins at 149 and 157 respectively before Ben March defeated Matt Heisey 4-2. Frank Heffernan (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) recorded his first pin of the day when he defeated Zach Downing in 2:15.

Pizarro improved to 3-0 on the day at 197 when he defeated John Starcevich before Feldman recorded his second pin of the day in 2:56 over Matt Pagano.

The Colonels will be idle until they wrestle at home for the third time this season when they host the Wilkes Open on Dec. 28.
