ITHACA, N.Y. - Erik Smith (Danville, Pa./Danville) picked up his 99^th victory of his career, a 6-4 decision over No. 7 Blaine Woszczak, but Ithaca won the reaming seven bouts to take a 29-10 win over No. 20 Wilkes. 

 

Smith, wrestling at 149, gave the Colonels their first victory, pulling Wilkes within 10 (13-3), but the Colonels wouldn't win another bout until Buddy Gouger (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) took a 6-3 decision over Tom Heckman. At 174, Frank Heffernan (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 bout to No. 6 David Priest, while Zach Pizarro (Easton, Pa./Easton) had an impressive 13-2 major decision victory over Brandon Stark. 

 

Wilkes started with a 6-0 deficit as it had to forfeit at 125 for the second-straight match. 

 

The loss dropped the Colonels to 16-6-2 overall and will return to action Friday when they head across town to face King's at 7 p.m.
