The awards keep coming for Wilkes University football defensive lineman
Tim Lombreglia (Sparta, N.J./Pope John), as only a few days after receiving the defensive player of the week in the Freedom Conference, he was honored as the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week in the Southeast region by a committee of voters.
Lombreglia recorded a career-high 10 tackles to go along with two-and-a-half sacks in the Colonels victory over Christopher Newport last Saturday. He also had an interception for 38 yards, which had initially been returned for a touchdown, but was brought back after a penalty 30 yards away from the play. That interception eventually led to a touchdown for Wilkes.
The Colonels are now 3-0 on the year, and are ranked 28th in the nation. They will look to continue their successful season against Albright, Saturday Oct. 3 in Reading, Pa. That game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
