SVOBODA HITS HOLE-IN-ONE AT SUSQUEHANNA SPRING INVITATIONAL

Wilkes University golfer Noah Svoboda (Suffern, N.Y.) hit a hole-in-one on the fifth hole at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club to lead the Colonels to a ninth place finish at the Susquehanna Spring Invitational.

Wilkes finished with a team score of 341 behind a team-best 82 shot by Sean Madden (Dunmore, Pa.), who ended in a tie for 24th overall in the 62-player field. Mike Turano was right behind Madden with an 84 which was good enough to finish in a tie for 32nd.

The host school won the event with a team-total of 299 behind Mitch Mercer, who won tournament with a 68 and was the only player to shoot under par.

Brian Williams (Taylor, Pa.) and Kaleb Smith (Beavertown/Midd-West) shot 86 and 89 respectively for Wilkes, while Svoboda ended his round with a 92.

Wilkes will be back in action Monday to compete in a tri-meet with King's and Misericordia.
