SCRANTON – Lindsey Davenport (Dallas, Dallas) saved 13 shots but the Lady Colonels couldn't overcome a late goal as Wilkes University fell to the University of Scranton 1-0 in non-conference field hockey action on Saturday afternoon.

Wilkes (0-1) was limited to three shots on goal compared to the Royals 21, but Davenport was sensational for the Lady Colonels, keeping Scranton scoreless for most of the game.

Scranton (2-0) got on the board at the 54:40 mark, getting the eventual game-winner on a tap-in off the stick of Kaitlyn Tirney on a pass from Gretchen Kempf.

The Lady Colonels return to the field next Saturday in their home opener, hosting Arcadia at the Ralston Athletic Complex at 4:30 p.m.
