NO. 19 WILKES WRESTLING FINISHES 3-0 AT MCDANIEL QUAD MATCH

WESTMINSTER, MD – The No. 19 Wilkes University wrestling team showed no signs of a letdown after dropping a tough match against No. 5 Ithaca Friday night posting three straight wins at the McDaniel College quad match Saturday afternoon. The Colonels posted wins over host McDaniel 33-6, Ursinus 24-18, and UMBC 20-15.

Wilkes improves to 18-4 overall, including 14 of their last 15 dual contests.

Several Wilkes wrestlers went a perfect 3-0 in the quad match. Michael Fleck (Easton, PA/Wilson Area) scored two major decisions and a technical fall to improve to 32-6 on the year at 125. At 133-pounds, Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) finished a perfect 3-0 on the afternoon with two decisions and a major decision. Dustin Stough (Friendsville, MD/Northern Garrett) (174) used a pin and two decisions to move to 24-12 on the year.

Wilkes will host cross-town rival King's Friday on senior night at 7:00 p.m. in the Marts Center.
