Melanie Nolt was recognized as the spring Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the MAC NOLT NAMED WOMEN’S TENNIS SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR 5/1/2013 11:22:00 AM NOLT NAMED WOMEN'S TENNIS SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR ANNVILLE—Wilkes University women's tennis standout Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) was recognized as the spring scholar-athlete as released the Middle Atlantic Conference Wednesday afternoon. This season, Nolt is 17-2 overall in singles play, going 14-1 from the No.1 singles spot. Nolt is a perfect 6-0 in the Freedom Conference and is 15-3 overall and 6-0 in league action in doubles pairing with Katie Lynn (Berwick, PA/Berwick). A three-time Freedom Conference Player of the Year, Nolt is a three-time All-Freedom Conference First-Team performer, being named Player of the Week on four separate occasions. A recent inductee to the Colonels Elite, Nolt has a 3.912 GPA and will graduate with a degree in accounting. To be a spring scholar-athlete, the athlete must be a senior with at least a minimum GPA of 3.2 and compete in a 2013 spring sport. The MAC Awards Committee bases selections on academic record and athletic prowess.
