Wrestling Cruises to Decisive 31-6 Win Over Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- Wilkes University won four consecutive bouts to start the match as they went on to defeat Elizabethtown College 31-6 on Friday evening.

Wilkes improves its dual match record to 6-2 while Elizabethtown drops to 1-4 on the year.

Guesseppe Rea (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) started the match at 125 for Wilkes with a major decision over John Archangelo 10-1. Michael Fleck (Easton, PA/Wilson Area) won his match in decision fashion 6-0 at 133 followed by Pankil Chander (Cedarhurst, NY/Lawrence) defeating Chris Kummerer 6-2 at 141. Colonels Andrew Tonnessen battled to a 7-5 decsion win over the Blue Jays Chad Lammer to make it 12-0 in favor of the Colonels.

Sean Lombardi (Newton, NJ/Kittatiny) lost a tough 4-3 decision to E-Town's Michael Lammer at 157. Mark Maloney (Fleetwood, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) majored Jordan Moser 8-0 at 165 pounds followed by the Colonels 174 pound James IIvento losing a close 6-5 decision to Ezekial Zimmer to make the score 16-6 in favor of the Navy and Gold.

Levi Veppert (Kempton, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) secured the Colonels victory at 184 pounds when he won a 4-3 decision over Luke Fernandez. The Colonels Eric Bach (Newton, NJ/Kittatiny) pinned Eric Eckstein in 2:05 at 197 pounds and David Wilke (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) earned a forefit win at 285 for the final points of the night.

Wilkes returns to the mat on 12/5 when they travel to Grantham, PA for the Messiah Petrofes Invitational which starts at noon.
