No. 23 Wilkes Wrestling Trumps Penn College 38-10
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The No. 23 Wilkes University wrestling team took seven of ten bouts, including two extra point wins and three forfeits, on way to a 38-10 victory over Penn College Thursday night in a dual matchup.
Wilkes improves to 11-4 overall following the win while Penn drops to 5-5 overall on the year. The win also marked head coach
Jon Laudenslager's 298
th of his career at Wilkes, standing just two more wins away from the 300-win plateau.
Dustin Zuzulock (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) put Wilkes on the board with a 6-0 decision win at 125-pounds,
Michael Fleck (Easton, PA/Wilson Area) ran his record to 22-1 following another extra point win scoring an 18-0 technical fall at 133. After Wilkes received a forfeit at 141, Penn College took decisions at 149 and 157 before
Robert Hawkins (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) pinned his opponent in :36 at 165.
Kyle Diesel (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) and Zach Faust each received forfeits at 184 and 285 respectively before
Nicholas Dawson (Montoursville, PA/Montoursville) rounded out the match with a pin at 285 in 1:19.
Wilkes begins the second semester on Monday and remains idle until Saturday, January 23
rd when the Colonels compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Lycoming College starting at 9:30 a.m.
