KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team claimed its tenth straight MAC Freedom Championship with a 5-0 victory over Misericordia University Saturday afternoon at the Kingston Tennis Club.
 
Wilkes moves to 20-2 overall and will await word on its destiny in the NCAA Tournament Monday afternoon when the brackets are released.
 
Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep) and Jordan Vasarkovy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) began the match with an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland) and Julia Baranov (Huntingdon Valley, PA/William Tennent) followed with an 8-2 victory at No. 2 while Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) and Olivia Hewison (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley) remained perfect on the year with an 8-1 decision at No. 3 pairs.
 
Croker then breezed past her opponent at No. 1 singles going 6-0, 6-0 to give Wilkes a 4-0 lead. Vasarkovy, named MAC Freedom Tournament MVP, then clinched the match with a straight set 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles.
