KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team captured its tenth straight MAC Freedom Championship posting a 5-0 sweep of FDU-Florham Saturday afternoon at the Kingston Indoor Tennis courts. Troy Haas (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) was named Tournament MVP for the Colonels.
 
Wilkes moves to 22-3 overall and will await word on its NCAA Tournament match this week.
 
In doubles play Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) and Troy Haas (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) opened with an 8-1 win at No. 1. Artyom Nabokin (Las Vegas, NV/Danvers) and Jonathan White (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) were also 8-1 winners at No. 3 before Adam Lefkandinos (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and Andrew Neidig (Matamoras, PA/Delaware Valley) closed out the Colonel doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory at No. 2.
 
In singles play Haas scored a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 before White went 6-1, 6-1 to clinch the match for Wilkes and its tenth consecutive league crown.
