Wilkes Men's Tennis Wins 11th Straight MAC Freedom Title with 5-0 Win Over King's
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team continued its dominance of the MAC Freedom winning its 11
th straight league championship after posting a 5-0 sweep of cross-town rival King's College Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

Wilkes improved to 20-5 overall and now will await word where they will go in the upcoming 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Wilkes jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles with wins of 8-1, 8-3 and 8-2.
Chris Maderitz (York, PA/Central York) was the first Colonels winner in singles play taking his No. 5 match by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) clinched the title for Wilkes with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 taking home MAC Freedom Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors in the process.
